The Natives are Restless
From the look of these pictures, one might surmise that we took a recent trip to a th
ird world country where the aborigines roam naked, covered in mud and hold some kind of sacrificial ceremonies and possibly even practice cannibalism. The truth is, we didn't have to travel far for such an environment. The aborigines are closer than you think. How close you ask? Why, they are in my backyard. They are nomadic, so maybe they are in yours now. Proof that you have been visited by these savages, missing fruit snacks, large mud puddles followed by muddy foot prints in an
d around your home, mud in the bath tub, clothes strewn about bedrooms, and the tell tale sign of a male aborigine, an unflushed toilet. Beware of these savages. There smiling faces may fool you, but they are dangerous. Don't invite them in, you never know what or who they will sacrifice next!

I can remember doing this in our backyard as a kid. My parents had tried to grow grass and the seed hadn't taken. So we had sprinklers and no grass. They'd tie towels around our necks, turn the sprinklers on till it was good and muddy and my brother and I in our underwear (or sometimes only the towels) would try to fly like Superman. A mud slip and slide. So much fun. Your kids will have THE BEST memories because you let them be silly and fun like this.

This is too cute! I loves playing in the mud, so much when I was kid and OR is the perfect place to make mud.
