My boys!

So, I guess since it has been almost a week since the birth of our babies, I better post a new blog. Maxon Wayne and Zane Albert Lyman joined our family 7 weeks early last Saturday morning.

I will try and give the shortened version of their birth. I went to the hospital Friday night because my lower back was spasming and my Dr. thought it could be back labor. They hooked me up, and I only had about 3 contractions in an hour, so they sent me home, but never checked to see if I was dilating any more. So I went home and went to bed around midnight. I woke up to use the restroom around 4:00 and felt a pop and a trickle, but I just thought I was having some bladder issues because who doesn't when they are pregnant. When I stood up it went away and never leaked again...well, until way later. So I went back to bed and around 5:00 I started having some contractions that I thought were Braxton Hicks, so I took my medicine to make contractions stop and tried to go back to sleep. They started getting painful, but were 9-12 minutes apart. So I got up to pack the kids bag just in case and they started hitting every 3-5 minutes. So I woke up Seth and he loaded everyone and thing into the car and we booked it to the hospital. He was going 80 MPH on 65 and passing people on the double yellow line, but this truly was an emergency. These babies were coming. So we got their around 6:50-7:00. They got me in a room and were hooking me up and I told the nurse forget doing that, just check me, the babies are coming. So she checks, and swears, and tells me I am complete, and all hell breaks loose! Immedietely there are twenty people in the room and then they decide to deliver in the OR were there is more room. So we go in there and the nurse poked me a million times getting the IV in. The doc tells me to try and push on the next contraction, so I try and feel like nothing is happening and then out pops Maxon with one little push at 7:13 am. He cried right away. The contractions kinda stalled after that and they did an ultrasound to make sure Zane was head down. He was, so the Dr. tells me she is going to pop my water on the next contraction and then I am going to push, so she does and I do and out comes Zane with one push at 7:18 am. He cried right away and they let me hold him for a minute.

Max weighed 4 lbs 9 oz and was 16 1/2 inches. Zane weighed 4 lbs 6 oz and was 16 inches long. They both have done wonderfully. They never needed oxygen. They passed all their premie newborn tests with flying colors and we are patiently waiting for them to understand bottle feeding and breast feeding and then they can come home. The currently have feeding tubes in place because they only stay awake for about 5 minutes and then zonk out, but we are working on it every day. Max latches on like a champ and Zane gets to try breastfeeding tomorrow. They are the cutest little things ever. They love sleeping in the same crib and Zane will stick his fingers in Max's mouth to suck. They are also absolutely identical in every way. Max has a bit of a chubbier face, but other than that, it is really hard to tell them apart.

We are so blessed to have these little additions. We are pretty much living at the hospital right now and I am pumping like a dairy cow to make sure these little guys get the best.
